Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is an Mexican American singer-songwriter and popular actress. Her mother was her primary caregiver in the USA and she was subject to many racial taunts that left her feeling like an unwanted person. If she attended school contests and received the highest praise for her singing at the age of 9 the young girl started to feel more confident. This not only increased her self-confidence but also changed the direction she wanted to go in her career. At the age of 22, she graduated at the Julliard School of New York. She started her professional journey at age 23 with Paul Simon's The Capeman on Broadway and the film You've Got Mail. The part in The lad from The Lake is her biggest break, earning herself the Tony Award in addition to critical acclaim for her role. Following that, in 2007, she was cast in the ABC series Grey's Anatomy and became more famous. She is also a known artist and produced an extended show. As an activist, she is a tireless advocate to promote LGBT equality.
